Viva Las Vegas!

Life on Dugway gets a little mundane needless to say and to pack up everything and go into 'town' and stay with family isnt always relaxing and usually more stressful, especially with Diesel. It was time to get away, and what better way to celebrate Valentines day than to get away! Since Monday was Presidents day we had a 4 day weekend and decided to take full advantage of it, and that tax return! We booked a hotel down in Vegas for the long weekend. Eleasa wanted warmth and sunshine, thats it. Oh, and a pool. Vegas was about the only place within her sanity that was warm enough. California was just too far, and what do you do in Arizona? We stayed at the Golden Nugget in old las vegas/downtown. It was pretty nice, a 4 star hotel. The pool surrounded a shark tank - which had a 3 story waterslide going THROUGH the shark tank! Unforunately the first 2 days half the pool deck was closed due to contruction -- the sunny part. We basically just relaxed, played a little and slept. Eleasa was asleep by I think 815 the first night. By the time Donavon uttered the words 'are you just going to go to sleep' she let out a nice big snore that even woke her up. On Saturday night we went down to the strip and waited around to see the Treasure Island pirate show... ok it may have been 7th grade when Eleasa last saw it and a few years since Donavon had but we sure didnt remember it being a stripper show on the street! It was HORRIBLE! Girls in their tight little practically thongs, literally pole dancing on the ship; the script was ridiculous and very 'valley girl'. It was down right horrible. We decided to leave -- wait, that pathway they had been harrassing people about was GONE! Eleasa led the way and kept saying politely 'excuse me' for the most part no one moved. occasionally people would try to move as best they could. We got to goliath and she said excuse me... nothing totally ignored her. so she yelled it a little louder. NOTHING. totally RUDE! Little Eleasa side checked the guy and pushed her way through. No joke, she came up to about his elbow and just pushed the guy right out of the way. Jerk. After climbing over herds of people gawking at the stripper show we finally made it out alive. Only to get over to the Venitian to take a look, oh wait, the Phantom of the Opera just got out! Nightmare number 2. We finally managed to get out of that mess to only find out we had to walk an extra 2 miles just to get across the street! By the time we left the strip we had had enough! We were sure glad we were staying no where near the strip! what a zoo! On Sunday evening we went over to see Chris, Meagan and Alec. Meagan made chocolate cream pie - a great past time from the Fuller-Henderson Sunday evenings! It was great to visit with them and play with Alec. He's such a cutie! Monday morning we woke up and then drove home. Eleasa had a migraine the whole drive.... it was alot of fun! All in all it was great to get away for a weekend! --- Pictures to come.... I have to upload them.... (oh but dont think there are that many because we forgot our SD card for the camera at home!)

Sometime we should swap stories about the Strip! Not as cool as it looks in the Danny Ocean movies! Although the Light Show is pretty fantastic!
