Little Green Monster

For those who weren't aware, we went to Seattle the other week and spent Halloween with my family. And if you havent put it together, we have driven across the country in a month.

Donavon had some more time off after the hunt ended so we went up to see my family since he was about to start a new job, and so we hear there isnt a lot of time off in this new job. We drove up on Friday the 23rd, arrived on Saturday and then came home on Sunday the 1st.

While we were there we were able to spend some time with none other than my family. We made carmel apples with the little cousins one afternoon at my sister's house and went to a pumpkin patch another day; and even spent a day in Sequim visiting my Grandma. As for the days between, pretty lazy and laid back.

Here are some pictures from the Pumpkin Farm, it just happened to be right down the hill from my Sister's house so they met up with us.

On Halloween we did a sudo Thanksgiving Dinner with my Parents and Brother & Sister. My Brother is coming down to Utah to be with his inlaws this year and so my Sister and Parents will be "alone"... but not so much. But that doesnt matter! Turkey dinner? I'm down! It was great to get together, afterwards all the kiddies went Trick-or-Treating. Must say the neighborhood was a sad time, it used to be packed with people. Now people put 'no trick-or-treaters' signs in their yards! Bahumbug! Boo on you! Issac was a green monster, Jack was a pirate, Austin was a Army dude (we bought him an authentic-ish childrens digi-camo uniform at Ft. Jackson, pretty close to the dang thing), Anne Elyse was Belle, Tyler was a Monkey. Gotta say, love the banana in the pocket! Here is the gang. I sure wish we were closer so they could do more things like this together. Now that Issac is walking and a little older he enjoys playing with his cousins and running around the house with them. It was fun to see him actually play with them. Makes me sad we are so far away, on the Strain side there aren't really any young cousin's around. The ones who come around are older. Reminded me of the good ol days when we'd hang out with Chris, Monica & Jordan. I want Issac to be best buddies with his cousins like I was.

So anyways, while we were there I was hoping that my sister who was just about ready to pop would have her baby.... but she didnt... However.... as Donavon was waking me up at around 4:30AM to get up and leave, my parents phone rang. Donavon said 'who the heck calls your parents at this hour?' I quickly snapped 'someone in LABOR!!'. Go figure.... she went into labor as we are packing up the car to drive home. Little Victoria was born sometime around 10:30AM (forgive me on the lack of details). So we missed the little baby by HOURS. Sad, but true. We look forward to meeting her sometime soon!

We had a great little visit, and Issac was a good little traveler, as always.

Did you know that he drove from the East Coast to the West Coast in a month? IMPRESSIVE!!! Way to go little man! We love you!
I also forgot to mention on those "lazy days" Issac kept busy. He liked going through Grandma's cupboards that are 'baby proofed' just minus the hooks... which is the key part if I'm not mistaking.... So what do you get when you have no locks? Tupperware Basil Soup a la floor!
